Denton Country Water District - 1F and 1G - Open Board positions

Hello All,

Now that we have approached 2020, 1F and 1G Boards are going to have 2 open positions in each. Should you be interested, pls PM me know for any guidance needed. 

1F is having huge resident base from CH North East, CH North and CH West, so not sure how many are interested and the existing board members may be contesting again. Most likely there may be an election here.

1G is very few residents (~150) from CH North East only and if we can coordinate with interested parties, we can avoid the election too. I'd prefer avoiding the election to reduce costs as coordinating within 150 residents would presumably be easy.  I'm happy facilitate the 2 members but pls feel free to reach me out on your willingness to be on the board.

Couple 1G residents showed their interest in the past, I will notify them too. Currently we have 2 non-1G residents on the board and they will be moving out with this hence residents will have an opportunity to join board and help improving our districts.

Application Filing Start Date: 15-Jan-2020
Application Filing End Date: 14-Feb-2020

Background: In general, the board position is valid for 4 years and election maybe on May 1st, so the duration of the newly elected director position is valid from May'2020 - May'2024. However, if the annexation is completed as per the targeted dates, which is by Jul 2021, all the water district boards will be dissolved by law, so the duration may become May'2020 to Jun/Jul'2021 (annexation date).

1. Board will be meeting once in a month at  LA QUINTA - 14925 LANDMARK BLVD., DALLAS, TEXAS 75254 on 3rd Wednesday (mostly) of the month (1G- 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 1F - 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM). The calendar is here http://www.dentoncountyfwsd.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/FY-2019-20-SCHEDULE.pdf.
2. Based on your interest, you can support board on reaching out to the residents and communicating the information. You may help identifying the issues and needs for your district and coordinate with Water District and COL (on Board of Director capacity) for fulfilling them.

Note on Annexation: Based on my meeting with City Manager yesterday, City of Lewisville is fast moving to complete all the necessary studies and targeting to complete the annexation process by Jul 2021. I shall share the meeting notes separately.
