MOM from the 1G water district meeting on 6/20

Hello All,

Here is the MOM from the 1G water district meeting on 6/20.

MOM (as a resident):

  1. The 1G Board approved the homestead exemption to 20% (comparatively 12% rise from last year [8%]), which would additionally benefit the homeowner on an average of $540 (with assumption of the home value is $450,000). YAYYYYYYYY.
    1. Last month it was approved to 10%.
    2. This approved exemption details will be sent to CAD in the first week of July.
  2. The 1F Board already approved the homestead exemption to 20% in the last month.
  3. As mentioned in the last month MOM, tax rate discussions are yet to happen. Before finalizing the rate, there will be a public hearing session (Aug) to receive any concerns/feedback from the residents and then Board will move forward with the tax rate finalization.
    1. This information will be send to CAD in Sept for applying on properties, which would result on the tax statements by Oct.
    2. Once we receive the tax statements, the due date would be end of Jan'19.
  4. 1G Development - New Apartment complex (west of Race track on 121 Business/FM544) - Utility work is in progress.
  5. Improvements for CHNE
    1. Tree installation request between 116 Wiltshire and 200 Wiltshire Blvd - yet to get an update on this.
    2. Curb ramps needs to be laid at the intersection of Winehart St and Raunald Dr, mostly all the sides.

Whenever the official MOM is available, will be able to share on the CHNE group email. Generally, the official MOM will be available in 2 months for public view.

NOTE: If any of you did "not" apply the homestead exemption with DCAD, pls do so, otherwise you will be kind of overpaying (not losing) the property taxes. Check on your property on DCAD site and make sure you have 'Homestead Exemption'. Depending on your property value, you will definitely overpaying anywhere between $750 - $1100 (0.2% of your property taxable value). You may be RICH....

Best Regards
