NEIGHBORHOOD STATUS UPDATE

We have some updates regarding the various projects and requests that we identified at our first meeting.

First, committee members will be meeting face to face with a representative from the Castle Hills HOA to go through our list of requests and questions sometime next week.  Once we have completed our meting, I will post additional updates on the board.

Also, I have had conversations with the Denton County Fresh Water District who is responsible for maintenance of the streets in our neighborhood.  As such, they would be the party that would install both additional street lights and street safety and STOP signs as warranted. The district has indicated that to cost for both additional street lights and street signs would be covered by the district themselves.  So, that is good news for us as we would not be required to fund these projects on our own. However, the district will do a needs assessment on our requests to ensure that they are really needed.

Our committee will be spending the next few weeks developing a site map to indicate exactly where we would like the additional street lights, speed and child safety signage and any additional STOP signs. Please post any specific requests to this board in the next two weeks so that they may be considered. Please keep in mind that we will likely be limited on the number of additional street lights that can be added due to the cost limitation. Also keep n mind that we cannot have street signs on every street.

We want to limit these requests to the most affected areas of need so that our request has a better chance of being approved by the district. Once approved, the district indicates that additional lighting will take as long as 6 months to complete.  Street signage would happen much more quickly. Again, there are no guarantees, but it is encouraging that the district is willing to work with us on these requests.

As we learn more, I will post additional updates.

Thanks
Scott
