NEIGHBORHOOD STATUS UPDATE 12/13/16

Hello All, I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful and happy holiday season. We have some further updates regarding changes within our neighborhood that I thought I would pass along. 1.  Intersection Signage along Windhaven and Winehart -     As many of you have noticed, intersection signage has been added on the approaches on Windhaven to the intersection at Winehart street. Although we are  appreciative to the water district for erecting this signage, we do not feel that it is adequate in its own right to alleviate the danger at this intersection. More explicit  signage, a better marked entrance and the addition of a street light at this intersection in the median of Windhaven is truly needed. The CHNE committee will request  these items at the next water district meeting scheduled in January 2017. 2.  Speed control and STOP signs within the neighborhood -     ...

NEIGHBORHOOD STATUS UPDATE 11/7/16

Neighbors: We have learned much over these past few weeks regarding the various requests and concerns within our neighborhood.  Below, I will detail what we know and our planned course of action on each issue. However, before I do that, I would like to clarify that "we' is a committee of a few individuals that are representing a group of interested neighbors that share common questions and concerns regarding the neighborhood.  We are not the HOA and we do not represent the HOA. We also are not the official communication arm of the neighborhood. To this point, we may decide on a course of action or recommendation that is not consistent with your individual views, and if we do, please feel free to contact the HOA or respective external entity that would be responsible for that issue and express your own individual opinion or pursuits.  With that in mind, this is where we are now: Speed Control and Stop Signs - We have learned that the...

DCFWSD meeting 11/2

Hello All,  Yesterday I was able to attend the 1B District meeting at the Denton Country Fresh Water District office (in Village Shops) and the below items have been discussed with them and response was positive but do not have a definite timeline to have this done. 1. Marking the Fire Hydrant areas (either painting the curb or visible flagging or any other best alternative). 2. Enhancing the Park amenities with additional play items (like swings, slides, ...) 3. Stop signs on Highwood Trl and Winehart as they are straight and long streets while entering and exiting the community. 4. New Schools on both the sides of Josey Ln (am sure this is not in Water District's scope, but requested to get any information from School district as it was already planned for 2020). Mr. Phil also mentioned that there are two street lights already approved (one around the park and another one was a replacement due to hit by an unknown driver). Also he will let us know when the...

NEIGHBORHOOD STATUS UPDATE

We have some updates regarding the various projects and requests that we identified at our first meeting. First, committee members will be meeting face to face with a representative from the Castle Hills HOA to go through our list of requests and questions sometime next week.  Once we have completed our meting, I will post additional updates on the board. Also, I have had conversations with the Denton County Fresh Water District who is responsible for maintenance of the streets in our neighborhood.  As such, they would be the party that would install both additional street lights and street safety and STOP signs as warranted. The district has indicated that to cost for both additional street lights and street signs would be covered by the district themselves.  So, that is good news for us as we would not be required to fund these projects on our own. However, the district will do a needs assessment on our requests to ensure that they are really needed. Our c...
