MOM from the 1G water district meeting on 5/16

Hello All, Here is the MOM from the 1G water district meeting on 5/16. MOM (as a resident) : After the elections, New Board members (Scott Stauffer, Steve Jewell & Gangadhar Kotu) are joined the Board Positions. Water District would be sending the finalized tax rates and homestead exemptions by the end of July to CAD, so they can issue the FINAL statements in the month of Oct. Discussed the Homestead exemption options and approved 10% exemption this year. Per State Law, cities would be able to provide up to 20% homestead exemption. However the tax rate discussions are to be done in the next couple months, target is to at least reduce couple cents (just a speculation at this moment, actuals yet to come). Eg., Property Value ( 2017 ) - $450,000 Property Value ( 2018 ) - $510,000   [450,000 * 110% = $ 495,000 ]. In the above example, property value has been appraised more than 10% (above $495,000), so homestead cap will be $510,000 - $495,000 = $15,000.00.
